Last Month, when Guardian announced that the cult K-beauty brand will now be available in their stores, so we had to get our hands on their most popular line – DIVE-IN, to try and see if it really is worth all the hype. The brand has three main skincare lines, each targeting a specific skincare concern:
DIVE-IN Line: Torriden’s flagship product range, the DIVE-IN Line, features the remarkable 5D Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid. This scientifically proven ingredient excels at rejuvenating skin cells, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, ultimately reviving a more youthful and radiant complexion.
BALANCEFUL Line: Another highly sought-after collection from Torriden, the BALANCEFUL Line incorporates the soothing properties of Centella Asiatica to effectively calm the skin, promote cellular regeneration, and regulate sebum production. This line is a go-to choice for those seeking balance and harmony in their skincare routine.
SOLID IN Line: Torriden’s latest addition to their product lineup, the SOLID IN Line, is formulated with Ceramide to fortify the skin’s moisture barrier. This innovative range is designed to nurture and maintain optimal skin health, ensuring that it remains well-hydrated and resilient.
The entire range within the DIVE IN line showcases a unique formulation, featuring various molecular sizes of 5-D Complex Hyaluronic Acid. This strategic blend is tailored to deeply infiltrate the skin, effectively replenishing and locking in essential hydration.
Notably, the varying sizes of Hyaluronic Acid are meticulously selected to optimise absorption; the smaller the molecule, the better it is able to permeate the skin’s layers. Additionally, select products within this line boast a natural blue hue, attributed to the presence of Malachite Extract. This botanical extract serves a dual purpose, acting as an antioxidant to safeguard the skin and as a soothing agent, providing relief to irritated skin.
We tried some of their key products from their top selling DIVE-IN line, and here are our thoughts:
DIVE-IN Cleansing Foam $17.50
Healthy skin starts with a good cleanser, and this cleansing foam comprising an impressive spectrum of eight micro-molecular sizes of Hyaluronic Acid seamlessly navigates through the skin’s dermal layer, ensuring profound and enduring hydration.
I really liked how clean, yet comfortable my skin felt after using this product. Infused with Panthenol and Allantoin, it fulfills dual roles of moisturizing and soothing, promoting skin wellness. Crafted with a hydrating, low pH formula at 6, it leaves the skin perpetually moisturized, all while preserving the skin’s protective barrier. Moreover, this product is distinguished by its commitment to purity, as it is devoid of artificial colours and fragrances, making it a vegan-friendly choice for conscientious consumers.
DIVE-IN Toner $20
This toner has a water-like texture that left my skin feeling hydrated and smooth. This product clinched the prestigious 2020 No.1 HWAHAE Best New Product award for the second half of the year and, in 2022, secured the esteemed No.1 HWAHAE Beauty Award.
Infused with Allantoin, it gently yet effectively exfoliates while providing hydration and soothing relief to the skin. The pretty natural pastel blue hue is from the Malachite Extract, which not only bestows the product with its appealing colour but also fosters rapid absorption into the skin.
DIVE-IN Soothing Cream $25
This refreshing, fast-absorbing water gel cream feels really nice, and has a non-sticky finish, that left my skin feeling revitalised and invigorated. The Trehalose within the formulation prevents moisture loss and alleviates the inner dryness of the skin.
It’s no real surprise that this product secured the No.1 spot in the 2021 HWAHAE Best New Product rankings for the second half of the year and earning the prestigious No.3 position in the 2021 HWAHAE Beauty Award, among many other accolades.
Crafted with the innovative “Water Ball Holding System,” it effectively locks in moisture by enveloping the moisturizing components, akin to a protective net, ensuring lasting hydration.
DIVE-IN Serum $21.30
Having heard so much about this serum, I must confess that I was the most excited to try this out. Boasting a refreshing, swiftly absorbed formula, it revitalises, hydrates and works its magic in just three seconds. While it does have a very faint scent of alcohol, the serum literally sinks into my skin and leaves it feeling full of hydration.
Packed with skin-soothing heroes such as D-Panthenol, Allantoin, and Madecassoside, this product is a true elixir of comfort for your skin. Its reputation precedes it, having earned the distinguished No.1 HWAHAE Beauty Award from 2019 to 2021, the 2021 Clean Beauty Award in the trend category at the Olive Young Awards, the coveted 2020 No.1 GlowPick Award, and a host of other accolades.
DIVE-IN Mask Set $30
A gentle and hypoallergenic mask specially crafted to provide much-needed moisture and tranquility to sensitive skin. Infused with the soothing properties of D-Panthenol and Allantoin, it delivers an effective solution for calming and comforting the skin.
Crafted with eco-consciousness in mind, the mask features a 100% natural cellulose sheet, which not only adheres securely to the skin but also moulds comfortably to the contours of my face. I love how saturated with moisture this mask left my skin feeling, and the fact that it is bio-degradable, is icing on the cake for me!
DIVE-IN Mild Sun Cream $18.75
This mineral sunscreen offers good protection with SPF 50+ and PA++++, effectively shielding the skin by deflecting harmful UV rays. Infused with a combination of 10 distinct varieties of Hyaluronic Acid, it provides deep hydration while ensuring you remain safeguarded from the sun’s rays.
Crafted with Zinc Oxide, it goes a step further, offering both moisturization and protection for sensitive skin, all without the risk of irritation. This exceptional product achieved top recognition, securing the No.1 spot in the 2022 HWAHAE Best New Product rankings for the first half of the year, and it was also honoured as the GLOWPICK No.1 pick in February 2022 within the Sunscreen category.
DIVE-IN Moisture Sun Cream $18.75
This chemical sunscreen boasts SPF 50+ and PA++++, providing robust protection against the sun’s harmful rays by absorbing and breaking them down.
Committed to an all-vegan formulation, it qualifies as an organic sunscreen, enriched with Hyaluronic Acid to fend off UV rays while delivering a moisturizing finish. The presence of Panthenol and Allantoin lends their soothing properties, ensuring skin comfort. With a lightweight, watery texture, it envelops the skin without any heaviness, offering a gentle and effective shield against the sun.
So is this K-beauty brand really worth all the hype? We certainly think so. Not only are their products eco-friendly and unscented, they are also affordably priced and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin.
