High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) has several benefits. It can be done in a shorter amount of time (think 45 minutes) compared to other workouts, making it more convenient for those of us on a time crunch. So what makes recently launched FOXX, Singapore’s first premium boutique gym, which is also run by the same team behind FiTTBOXX (both located in the same building along Joo Chiat) different from regular gyms? As far as the brand is concerned, the term ‘Premium boutique gym’ wasn’t just a label that they mindlessly slapped on.

FOXX is a smart gym. Its lockers are all operated using facial recognition software. During workouts, each user is given a heart-rate belt. The Myzone heart-rate belt allows them to track their performance through a studio screen display, ensuring training at optimal intensity, and ensuring that should anything go awry, the trainers would be notified. Well designed, and comfortable, the whole vibe at FOXX is welcoming and relaxing, and not at all intimidating as many gyms can be.

Into The Zone — A Revolutionary Training Regime

When it comes to the workout regime, FOXX aims to revolutionise High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) workouts with their proprietary Into The Zone (ITZ) series — essentially adding strength training and boxing to the cardio-focused HIIT, together with dimmed lights and high tempo beats to get you moving, and into the zone.

The gym also uses specially designed training equipment to maximise training intensity, like the FOXX TROT Sand Step Board which is used to engage the core and build stability.

While the classes are intense, the gym is also children-friendly, with an entire regimen created just for the little ones, that focuses on stabilisation, rather than strength training.
