Many of us love our fur babies more than people. They make for great bed buddies, they love to cuddle, they look good even when they drool and they don’t hog the blanket. However certain studies conducted in the past about sharing your bed with your furry companion has had mixed messages.
But a new study conducted by the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, has shown that 4 in 10 people surveyed, reported better sleep when their pooch shared their bed. The results are according to a survey of 150 dog owners who participated in this recent study.
Here are five reasons why dogs make great bed buddies accoding to the recent study conducted:
Reduced Stress And Anxiety
The study participants said that having their dog on the bed with them made them feel calmer and more relaxed.
A Feeling Of Safety And Security
Many took comfort in knowing their dog was nearby to alert them in case of a house fire, intruder, or other unexpected and unpleasant surprises.
Makes For A Happier Pooch
Your dog will love sleeping with you, too. Cozying up on your bed is also a boone to your dog’s health and well-being. Plus their lives are so short compared to ours, so why not just let them be happy?
Ward Off Depression
Snuggling with your fur-buddy can help you stave off feelings of loneliness and depression. Having a warm body, who won’t hog the blanket, sleeping beside you is very soothing. Plus dogs are great cuddlers.
No more Loneliness
Who loves you more than your dog? No one, thats who! But seriously, dogs, cats and all animals make great bedtime companions. Their warmth and having a solid body beside you, takes away feelings of loneliness and sadness.
