Singapore’s largest retail and lifestyle hub is officially two decades old, and it is throwing its most ambitious celebration yet. First launched in March 2026 under the banner VC20: Celebrating 20 Years, For Everyone, the milestone campaign enters its premier phase from 12 October through 1 November 2026, transforming the harbourfront destination into a vibrant playground of games, time-sensitive promotions, and philanthropic partnerships.

Designed by architect Toyo Ito and holding over one million square feet of retail space, VivoCity has evolved considerably since welcoming its inaugural visitors in October 2006. Gwen Au, Vice President for Marketing Communications at MPACT Property Management, noted that the anniversary aims to unite playful experiences, creative collaborations, and rewards that honour two decades of communal memories while setting the tone for the mall’s next chapter.

Central Court Transforms into the VC20 Birthday Playground

Between 12 and 18 October, VivoCity’s Level 1 Central Court will serve as the festival’s lively core, running daily from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Headlining the floor is the VC20 Mini Grand Prix, an immersive setup that takes virtual motorsport into the physical realm. Drivers settle into simulator rigs to steer miniature cars across a custom-built 6-metre by 4-metre circuit modelled directly on the contours of the mall. While the circuit opens for public walk-in heats throughout the week, the competitive stakes rise over the weekend of 17–18 October, where participants can race for top spot on the leaderboard. The eventual winner will secure a grand prize valued at $2,000 in VivoCity and mystery eVouchers.

Beyond the track, several interactive pop-ups will cater to creatives and families:

  • Make the VC20 Headlines: A complimentary vintage-style newsprint photobooth developed with Solace Studios, printing keepsake front-page spreads featuring guests alongside anniversary layouts.PDF
  • Colour Our 20: A free interactive digital station featuring outline drawings adapted from works by artists from The Art Faculty (TAF). Shoppers can colour the designs on digital tablets, seeing their finished work projected live onto a shared, building-scale digital tapestry.PDF+ 1
  • Hit The Perfect 20: A reflex challenge unlocked with an $80 minimum spend across up to two same-day receipts. Players must halt a running digital timer at exactly 20.00 seconds to win instant prizes.PDF
  • VC20 Make & Celebrate: An on-site sensory crafting corner hosted by SPLATTIFY, running from 12 to 16 October, where visitors can mould custom crunchy squishies ($29 nett).PDF

Flash Discounts and Weekend Giveaways

The retail programme ramps up across consecutive weekends with the introduction of VC20 Power Hours. Rather than running standard seasonal markdowns, eight participating brands will roll out dedicated one-hour flash offers across the weekends of 17–18 October and 24–25 October.

Drops take place promptly at 2:00 pm and 5:20 pm, spotlighting names including Timezone, Rina Lee, OSIM, and Xiaomi during the afternoon slots, followed by Chloé, Burberry, Samsung, and Best Denki in the late afternoon. Specific deal details will be revealed progressively via VivoCity’s official social channels.

Shoppers spending a minimum of $120 across two same-day receipts on weekends between 17 October and 1 November can head to Level 1 West Boulevard to play the VC20 Rewards Capsule machine. Operating from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm for the first 240 qualifying VivoRewards members each day, the machine dispenses mystery rewards, including a weekly $2,000 VivoCity eVoucher prize.

Purposeful Keepsakes: The Art Faculty Collaboration

The celebrations also extend an existing partnership with The Art Faculty (TAF), a social enterprise by the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) that showcases the talents of differently-abled creatives.

Shoppers can redeem limited-edition items showcasing commissioned anniversary artwork:

  • VC20 x TAF Pouch: Redeemable with a minimum spend of $150 across up to two same-day receipts (capped at 120 daily on weekdays, 240 on weekends).
  • VC20 x TAF Tote Bag: Redeemable with a minimum spend of $300 across up to two same-day receipts (capped at 100 on weekdays, 150 on weekends). VivoRewards Gold members redeeming the tote bag also receive an additional $10 Miniso eVoucher.

For every collaborative keepsake redeemed, Mapletree and VivoCity will donate $2 directly to the Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) to fund ongoing community programmes.

Member Rewards and Perks

Registered VivoRewards members have access to ongoing perks throughout the campaign window. New members who sign up during the promotional period and spend at least $120 in a single transaction will receive an automatic $5 eVoucher credited to their app. Additionally, the mall’s recurring “Flash 20” digital campaign will continue dropping limited dining and lifestyle offers in the mobile app on the 20th of every month.

Whether you fancy testing your hand on the racing simulator, collecting purpose-led keepsakes, or tracking down limited-time luxury promotions, VivoCity’s birthday bash offers plenty of reasons to pay the waterfront an October visit.
