Growing up, The Laughing Cow was a lunchbox staple for many of us. Whether it was spread onto crackers, sandwiched between slices of bread or eaten straight from the little triangular wedge, it’s one of those snacks that instantly brings back childhood memories. So when we heard that La Vache! Singapore was turning the iconic cheese into a cheesecake, we knew we had to give it a try.

If you’ve never been to La Vache!, here’s your sign. The French bistro is known for doing one thing really well: steak frites.

Instead of spending ages deciding what to order, everyone gets the restaurant’s signature set menu. We started with a crisp walnut salad before digging into a tender USDA ribeye steak, accompanied with La Vache!’s signature secret sauce. The best part? The unlimited fries. They’re hot, crispy and super addictive, so don’t be surprised if you find yourself asking for a second (or third) helping.

The restaurant itself also makes for a great date spot. Think cosy Parisian bistro vibes with warm lighting, red leather booths and chequered tablecloths. It’s intimate without feeling overly fancy, making it just as suitable for a casual catch-up as it is for a first date.

The dessert that took us back to our childhood

After polishing off our steak and fries, we saved room for the star of this collaboration: the Legendairy Cheesecake.

Available only throughout July, the cheesecake features a buttery macadamia base layered with creamy The Laughing Cow cheese and topped with a strawberry compote.

The cheese gives it a rich, creamy texture, while the strawberry compote cuts through with just enough tanginess to keep it from feeling too heavy. It’s definitely not the overly sweet kind of cheesecake, and we could still pick up those familiar creamy notes from The Laughing Cow that brought back childhood memories.

It’s a fun, nostalgic twist that somehow feels both comforting and elevated.

Two iconic French cows come together

On paper, a steak restaurant and a cheese brand might seem like an unexpected pairing. But once you learn a little more about both brands, the collaboration actually makes perfect sense.

Both La Vache! and The Laughing Cow share French roots, champion food that’s meant to be shared, and, of course, have their own iconic cow mascots. This limited-time collaboration brings together those shared values in the form of a dessert that’s playful, nostalgic and full of personality.

If you’re already planning a visit for La Vache!’s signature steak and unlimited fries, make sure to leave some room at the end of your meal. The Legendairy Cheesecake is only available throughout July, and we’d say it’s well worth ending your dinner on a sweet note.
