To celebrate the four-decade mark, homegrown label Tocco Toscano isn’t just releasing something “new”, they’re digging into the archives to bring back the soul of the 1980s.

The new Heritage Collection is a direct nod to the iconic Duran design that put the brand on the map back in the day. If you appreciate the weight of a good zipper or the specific grain of a leather trim, this 10-piece range will feel familiar. Founder James Lor has brought back the original 1980s hardware and the brand’s vintage logo, pairing them with those deep, “Classico” green tones and brown leather accents that defined the label’s early years.

It’s a full-circle moment for Lor, who started his journey as an apprentice in a tiny workshop in Florence, Italy, under the guidance of Mr Valecchi Stefano. What began as a dream to bring Italian craftsmanship to Asia has evolved into a local powerhouse, now managed alongside his son, Joseph Lor.

Functional Luxury for the Daily Grind

Despite the nostalgic aesthetic, these aren’t museum pieces; they are built for the chaos of 2026. James Lor often says he treats the design process like the “birth of a baby,” and that level of care shows in the functionality.

The collection covers everything from small stationery cases to a hefty Heritage Weekender ($599 – $799) that features a laptop sleeve and dual compartments—perfect for someone who needs to go from a boardroom to a boarding gate without swapping bags. For something more compact, the Heritage Saddle Bag ($239 – $279) keeps things simple with a front loop closure that feels very “city weekend.”

Other highlights include:

  • The Heritage Vanity Bag: A structured little piece with internal elastic pockets to keep your lipsticks from rolling around.
  • The Heritage Document Bag: A sleek, gender-neutral option for those who want their tech tucked away in something that looks like it has a story to tell.

Evolution Over Ego

While the designs look back, the business is very much looking forward. Under the leadership of CEO Joseph Lor, the brand has seen a massive digital shift, online sales have skyrocketed since 2017, and they’ve successfully expanded into Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

The Heritage Collection is especially meaningful,” Joseph explains. “It brings together my father’s original vision with how we see the brand evolving today.” It’s a rare example of a family-run business managing to modernise without losing the “hand-sketched” feel that made it special in the first place.

Where to Shop

The Heritage Collection is available now. You can find the full range online, or at major department stores across Singapore, including Takashimaya, TANGS, and Metro.  Items start at $59 for small leather goods and go up to $799 for the larger travel pieces.

If you spend at least $300 on pieces from this collection, you’ll nab a complimentary leather care kit. This deal is exclusive to their online store and the Takashimaya outlet, so it’s worth heading there if you want to keep your new leather looking pristine for the next forty years.
