As a beauty editor with eczema-prone, reactive skin, I’ve learned, sometimes the hard way, that not every trending serum deserves a place on my shelf. My skin is quick to react, and even quicker to protest, and deeply unimpressed by over-fragranced, over-promised formulas. That’s why when I find a brand that consistently delivers calm, balance, and visible results, I tend to stick with it. Uriage is one of those rare brands.
Ever since I reviewed the Uriage Cica Daily Repairing Cream Concentrate when it first launched, I have been obsessed with the brand and have actually bought several of their products. Since then, Uriage has quietly become a staple in my routine, one I reach for when my skin barrier feels compromised and reactive, when I have my monthly acne breakout, or simply when my skin needs some TLC.
Bariéderm-CICA Daily Serum: My Everyday Skin Reset
Priced at $59.90 for 30ml, the Bariéderm-CICA Daily Serum is designed for daily use to strengthen, protect, and repair fragile or damaged skin. On paper, it targets exactly the issues my skin cycles through: dullness, discomfort, fatigue lines, mild redness, and those small, frustrating imperfections that appear when my barrier is compromised.
What sets this serum apart is its 10.5% Thermal-Biotic Complex, which combines Uriage Thermal Water with inulin, a prebiotic that helps rebalance both the skin and microbial barriers. As someone with eczema, barrier health isn’t a buzzword; it’s everything. When my barrier is happy, my skin behaves. When it’s not, no amount of concealer can save the day.
The texture is ultra-soothing without feeling heavy or occlusive. It sinks in quickly, making it easy to layer under moisturiser or sunscreen. The formula is enriched with Centella Asiatica, which my skin consistently responds well to, alongside high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acids and vitamin B5. Together, they deeply hydrate, calm visible redness, and support skin repair.
Over time, I noticed my skin looked more even and resilient, especially during periods of stress or travel when flare-ups usually make an appearance. Dipeptides in the formula also work quietly in the background to support skin repair and help prevent early signs of ageing, an added bonus for a serum that already does so much heavy lifting.
Eau Thermale H.A. Booster Serum: When My Skin Feels Dehydrated, Not Dry
Dehydration is another issue my skin battles regularly, particularly in air-conditioned environments or after long days at media launches and events. The Uriage Eau Thermale H.A. Booster Serum ($70.55) is the one I reach for when my skin feels tight, flat, or lacking that healthy bounce. In fact, I also use it under a sheet mask (like the Saborino 1-minute mask) in the morning if I have a long day ahead of me, as it keeps my makeup and skin looking and feeling hydrated, glowy and bouncy the whole day.
Formulated with 1.5% pure hyaluronic acid in multiple molecular weights, this serum hydrates different layers of the skin, helping it retain moisture more effectively. The addition of Aquaxyl and Marshmallow Flower Extract helps reinforce the skin barrier and protect against external aggressors, which makes a noticeable difference when my skin is feeling vulnerable.
Despite its hydrating power, the texture is impressively lightweight almost gel-like and absorbs quickly without leaving residue. It plumps fine dehydration lines and gives the skin a smoother, velvety finish that works beautifully under makeup. As with most Uriage formulas, it’s highly tolerant and suitable for sensitive skin, which means no stinging, no redness, and no unpleasant surprises.
Dépiderm Anti-Dark Spot Brightening Booster Serum: Gentle, But Effective
Brightening products can be tricky territory for reactive skin, especially when vitamin C is involved. The Dépiderm Anti-Dark Spot Brightening Booster Serum ($79.90) took me by surprise in the best way.
Made with 94% natural-origin ingredients, this serum combines Mela Technology, a 20% vitamin C complex, and niacinamide to target dark spots, uneven tone and dullness. Despite the high concentration, the formula is unscented, non-comedogenic and dermatologically tested, making it suitable even for sensitive skin.
The texture is light and comfortable, and it layers well without pilling. With consistent use, I am noticing a gradual improvement in my skin’s overall radiance and tone clarity, particularly around areas where post-inflammatory marks tend to linger. It doesn’t promise overnight miracles, but it delivers steady, visible results without compromising skin comfort which, for me, is the gold standard.
Hyséac New Skin Serum: Adult Acne’s Quiet Nemesis
While my skin leans sensitive, it’s not immune to hormonal or stress-induced breakouts. The Uriage Hyséac New Skin Serum Anti-Blemish Booster ($59.90) is formulated specifically for adult acne, targeting everything from blemishes and blackheads to texture and early fine lines.
Its 5.8% AHA blend including glycolic, malic and lactic acids provides gentle exfoliation, while zinc helps regulate excess sebum. What makes this serum stand out is its anti-stress technology, featuring NEUROBIOX™ and ENDO REGUL patents that address stress-related imperfections.
Used consistently (and always paired with sunscreen during the day), it helps refine skin texture, reduce shine and fade acne marks over time. Despite the active ingredients, it remains non-comedogenic and well-tolerated, even on skin that’s prone to sensitivity.
What I appreciate most about Uriage is its quiet confidence. These aren’t flashy, trend-driven products, instead they’re thoughtfully formulated, dermatologically sound, and genuinely effective. As someone who doesn’t have the luxury of experimenting recklessly with skincare, Uriage has earned my trust both professionally and personally.
It’s rare for a brand to transition so seamlessly from editor-tested to personally purchased, but Uriage has done exactly that. And for my eczema-prone, reactive skin, that’s no small compliment.
