Christmas dining often promises indulgence, but this year, Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie at Momentus Hotel Alexandra elevates the season’s spirit to delicious new heights. Its Magical Christmas Moments experience, running from 12 December 2025 to 3 January 2026, invites diners to gather, celebrate, and savour an extensive spread of premium roasts, sparkling seafood, vibrant salads, and whimsical desserts.
As a food writer, it’s rare to walk into a festive buffet that feels abundant yet thoughtfully curated, indulgent yet beautifully fresh. But this one? It truly impressed on every count, from the flavours to the freshness to the ambience.
The celebration begins even before diners take their seats. Held on the hotel’s Level 7 Lifestyle Deck, the evening opens with breezy sunset views, an infinity pool glistening nearby, and a sparkling wine reception that sets a relaxed but elegant tone. Guests mingle over canapés and beautifully carved Jamón Iberico de Bellota, enjoying the warm glow of golden hour before heading indoors for the main feast.
Once inside Verandah Rooftop Rotisserie, the Christmas magic takes full form. The culinary highlight, Le Grande Christmas Roast, delivers eight spectacular cuts of beef, pork and lamb, each prepared with festive flair and culinary precision.
The star of the spread, the 14-day butter-aged Argentinian Beef Ribeye, is one of the most memorable dishes on the table. Aged in-house and finished on the binchotan hibachi grill, it offers an extraordinary depth of flavour: rich, nutty, and beautifully caramelised. Alongside it, guests can feast on Tajima Wagyu Beef Rump (MBS 8), US Prime Beef Short Ribs, Herb-crusted Spring Lamb Rack, Sakura Pork Tomahawk, and a crispy Crackling Pork Porchetta stuffed with truffle and herbs. Classic Grain Mustard Honey-glazed Gammon Ham and the indulgent Beef Wellington round out this impressive lineup.
While the roasts steal the spotlight, the rest of the buffet is equally impressive and wonderfully fresh. The Seafood Bar features plump King Crab Legs, shimmering Japanese oysters, tender Half Shell Scallops, and sweet Poached Live Tiger Prawns, all served on ice and tasting impeccably clean and ocean-bright. A sashimi station offers salmon, tuna, yellowfin and octopus sliced to order, bringing a refreshing balance to the richness of the meats.
European classics join the party too, including a Chestnut-stuffed Rotisserie Chicken and Grilled Whole Turbot with Lemon Beurre Blanc, each prepared with a festive twist. Comfort dishes like Parmigiano Cheese Wheel, Carbonara and Valencian Seafood Paella add heartiness and warmth, perfect for cosy Christmas gatherings.
A colourful display of salads, antipasti, cold cuts and cheeses brings variety to the table, while the dessert spread is nothing short of charming. Diners can indulge in a towering Christmas Tree Croquembouche, a whimsical Snowman Pavlova, and a fun Pink Chocolate Fondue complete with churros, waffles and dipping treats. Signature favourites such as the Cempedak Crème Brûlée, Gingerbread Trifle, and Red Velvet Yule Log add nostalgic sweetness to the festive finale.
Lunch diners aren’t left out of the celebration either. From 1 December 2025, the restaurant’s semi-buffet lunch includes festive mains such as Atlantic Salmon, Sous-vide Turkey Breast, 48-hour Braised US Beef Short Ribs, and the delightful Wellington Al Funghi, complemented by seasonal salads, sides and desserts.
For those hosting at home, festive takeaway roasts and sides, from the beloved Rotisserie Chicken to Tajima Wagyu Roast Beef, ensure that the season’s flavours can be easily enjoyed around your own dining table.
