As a family with a little one who genuinely believes Subway is the pinnacle of culinary delight, the invitation to preview their newest flavour – the Triple Cheese Rotisserie Chicken – was met with collective cheers and palpable anticipation! We’d been counting down the days, eager to see what Subway had cooked up this time.
Our adventure began the moment we arrived at the outlet. The first thing that caught our eye, and immediately captivated the children, was a large, vibrant interactive screen. It wasn’t just a static display but a game where they could control the on-screen character’s movements using only their voices!
Watching their faces light up with glee as they shouted ‘Cheese!!” and saw the character respond was a fantastic and unexpected treat. It was a clever way to engage families and set a playful, positive tone for the entire experience. Even the adults couldn’t resist a little chuckle and a go!
After the excitement of the game, we were warmly guided to our table and presented with the “Set of 4 for Family.” This bundle was incredibly convenient and thoughtfully put together, offering a bit of everything to satisfy different cravings. It featured the much-anticipated new Triple Cheese Rotisserie Chicken subs, a generous and inviting nacho cheese bowl, and a selection of drinks that promised unique options.
So, the moment of truth: how was the Triple Cheese Rotisserie Chicken sub? The concept alone was promising, and the first bite revealed tender, well-seasoned rotisserie chicken that was genuinely delicious.
The concept of “triple cheese” had us envisioning a decadent, melt-in-your-mouth experience. While the sub was certainly good, and the presence of cheese was noted, we felt that it didn’t quite deliver the overwhelming “cheesy” punch we had all been dreaming of. I was hoping for distinct layers of cheese flavour, perhaps a sharp cheddar, a creamy provolone, and a gooey mozzarella, all melting together. But it felt more like a standard cheesy chicken sub rather than an emphatic “triple cheese” statement. A more pronounced cheese profile or a visibly more generous, melted cheese application would undoubtedly elevate it from good to absolutely sensational.
Now, let me rave about the nacho cheese bowl – this was an undisputed champion of our meal! The bowl arrived brimming with crisp, golden nacho chips, accompanied by a wonderfully warm, velvety cheese sauce and a good helping of mashed avocado. It was a definite crowd-pleaser, sparking a friendly competition for the last cheese-laden chip and disappearing far too quickly for our liking!
The kids, as is often the case, found a particular thrill in the beverage selection. They were especially fascinated by the Fanta Zero Sugar options, which went beyond the usual offerings. The Lychee and Cherry flavours were a revelation! It’s not every day you find such exotic and fun drink choices, particularly sugar-free ones, and they were absolutely thrilled to try something so new and different.
Overall, our preview of Subway’s new offerings was a thoroughly enjoyable family outing. The interactive voice game was a stroke of genius and a brilliant way to welcome guests. The nacho cheese bowl was a resounding success, and the unique Fanta flavours were a delightful surprise that particularly charmed the children. While the Triple Cheese Rotisserie Chicken sub was tasty and featured quality ingredients, a more assertive and gooey cheese presence would make it truly live up to its “triple cheese” promise and transform it into an unforgettable menu item. Nevertheless, it’s definitely worth trying, especially if you’re looking for a satisfying, family-friendly meal with some fun, innovative twists that make the experience memorable.
A big thank you to Subway for inviting us to be among the first to try the new flavour and for a wonderful afternoon!
