In the fourth collaboration Levi’s® and Japanese clothing company and retailer BEAMS, have once again joined forces to unveil an exclusive capsule collection. Building on the success of their previous Super Wide offerings, Levi’s® and BEAMS continue to pay homage to the rich heritage of Levi’s®, presenting new and strikingly widened pieces inspired by classic styles and washes.
Drawing inspiration from subtle, simple, and elegant garments dating back to 1944, the Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 collection exudes a sense of refined nostalgia.
The highlight of the Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 collection includes the Super Wide V2 Type I Trucker (S$399.90), a Super Wide V2 Jean (S$379.90), and a Graphic Tee (S$69.90). Drawing inspiration from the 1944 Levi’s® jean jacket, the Super Wide V2 Type I Trucker, crafted from heavy 16 oz. custom Orange Tick selvedge denim, features a distinctive design with only four shanks, a custom super wide leather back patch that doubles the width of the iconic Two-Horse Pull patch, and a BEAMS exclusive tab.
For a complete ensemble, pair the Super Wide V2 Type I Trucker with the Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 Jean, inspired by the 1944 501® jean. Crafted from Orange Tick selvedge denim exclusively developed for BEAMS, it boasts the BEAMS exclusive tab and a custom super wide leather back patch. Both the Super Wide V2 Type I Trucker and Jean are available in a lighter vintage wash and a darker rinse wash, the latter being an exclusive offering from BEAMS. Completing the collection is the white Graphic Tee, featuring a blank front and co-branded graphics along with a screen-printed ‘stitched’ arcuate on the back.
The Levi’s® x BEAMS Super Wide V2 campaign showcases a diverse cast of nine models against a backdrop reminiscent of traditional Japanese landscapes, featuring bamboo forests and cobblestone pavements, set against a studio setting. The juxtaposition of these two landscapes, although not physically intersecting, captures overlapping elements that portray a simultaneously familiar and unfamiliar Japan.
