Who doesn’t love ice cream? It’s a perfect treat for anyone, no matter how old or young you may be!
There is nothing like a refreshing scoop of any flavour , for a special celebration with family or friends, or on an ordinary day, or even to chase away the blues.

Former US President Ronald Reagan decreed that  the third Sunday of July would be observed as World Ice Cream Day, to celebrate everyones favourite treat. Today, ice cream comes in several flavours and variations; Ice cream sandwiches, Ice cream cakes, rolled ice cream, the list is endless. The good news is that if eaten in moderation, ice cream, besides being delicious, also has some health benefits:

It’s A Source Of Vitamins

Ice cream is a huge source of Vitamins A, B-6, B -12, C, D and E. It also contains Vit K, niacin, thiamine and riboflavin.

It Provides Energy

Ice cream is an incredible source of energy, being rich in carbohydrates, fats and proteins needed by our bodies to produce energy. Some moderation is advised as ice cream can help you gain weight.

It’s A Source Of Minerals

Minerals like calcium and phosphorus are also found in ice cream. Calcium is essential to maintain healthy bones and reduces the chances of kidney stones.

It Can Stimulate The Brain

Ice cream stimulates thrombotonin, which is the hormone for happiness and helps reduce stress levels in the body.Milk contains L-triptophane, which is a natural tranquilizer and helps relax the nervous system. 

But like all good things, ice cream should be eaten in moderation. So here’s wishing you a happy World Ice Cream Day!
