Estée Lauder will be launching a limited-edition collection of lipsticks in celebration of Chinese Valentine’s Day that falls on 25 August this year.
For those of you, including myself who have never heard of Chinese Valentine’s Day, well it originated from a 2,000-year-old legend of two lovers, Niulang and Zhinu, one a cowherd and the other a weaver fairy.
As their love was not blessed by the gods, they were set on opposite sides of the Silver River (symbolising the Milky Way). The two lovers could only reunite once a year when a flock of magpies formed a bridge across the river on the 7th day of the 7th Lunar month.
Inspired by the romantic love story of Niulang and Zhinu, the limited-edition collection depicts the two lovers reunited on the packaging, and comprises of three Pure Colour Envy Sculpting Lipstick in shades Carnal 520, Slow Burn 130 and Emotional 140.
