Great news for those of you renovating your homes, or just want to give your home that added bit of protection, Nippon Paint has launched a new breakthrough in paint technology, VirusGuard+. This ultra-premium interior paint is said to possess antimicrobial properties with low VOC (volatile organic compounds), excellent stain resistance and washability.
The ultra-premium paint is specially formulated with copper ion technology that destroys viruses and bacteria on walls and is the first of its kind in Singapore.
This environmentally friendly and safe paint is said to be highly effective in reducing the risk of transmission by destroying viruses when they first make contact with coated walls.
Nippon Paint VirusGuard+ destroys viruses and bacteria on walls via contact killing through the encapsulation of the most active antimicrobial state of copper found in the paint. The encapsulated copper ions work to destroy the protein layer in the virus, thereby making it inactive.
A third-party laboratory has concluded the paint to be able to completely inactivate human coronavirus, which is exactly what we need in this day and age. In addition to viruses, the paint also kills harmful common bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus, E. coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Nippon Paint VirusGuard+ is available in 23 specially curated matte finish colours, ranging from neutral hues to calming yellows, greens and blues and retails for S$180 for a 5-litre pack at authorised retailers and at Nippon Paint online.
