Most people I know have a mental list of things that they absolutely must be doing during Chinese New Year and for some reason, this list will almost definitely include movie-watching, regardless of whether it is done at home, in the theatres or across the Causeway.

With Chinese New Year long weekend celebration, I am sure some of us would choose to brave the jam to cross the Causeway for shop-till-you-drop experience and at the same time, try to catch a few movies.

Singaporean movie-goers looking for a pampering experience can now enjoy a luxurious treat at the spanking new Aurum Theatre at The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey in Johor Bahru.

Named after the Latin word and chemical element representing gold and is Golden Screen Cinemas’ latest flagship luxury cinema that features opulent halls, contemporary continental dining, bespoke service and more. One of the highlights at Aurum Theatre is the premium Getha Lux Suites, specially designed by Italian architect, Marco Fumagalli.

The Getha Lux Suites boast nano-silver antibacterial covers, plush pillows that deliver excellent support, and a silky fleece blanket – movie-goers can snuggle up and relax on their Getha luxury recliners to enjoy their movie.

If you are a clean freak like me, you will be glad to know that covers for the luxury recliners, pillows, and blankets are changed after every show.
