In celebration of Earth Month, Origins planted a total of 53 trees in northwestern Singapore under NParks’ Plant-A-Tree programme. This was part of the international Origins Green The Planet corporate philanthropy campaign, which aims to promote the message of conservation and environmental protection.
The 53 trees planted were all suitable for Singapore’s tropical climate. Twenty trees were planted at the Pang Sua Park Connector in Bukit Panjang while 33 trees were planted at the Canberra Park Connector in Sembawang.
“The Plant-A-Tree Programme provides the community with an opportunity to create a special connection with nature and have a greater sense of ownership for it. By planting trees, not only will it help the environment, it will also benefit our future generations. We hope that the participation of like-minded partners like Origins will inspire more organisations to join us in our greening and conservation efforts.” – Prof Leo Tan, Chairman of the Garden City Fund.
