With the amount of over-time and screen-time that we put in on a daily basis, its no surprise that most of us here in Singapore have puffy eyes and dark circles. And let’s be honest, how many of us really use an eye cream every day? I for one didn’t until very recently.

Unfortunately for us, the skin around our eyes is the thinnest on our body and is therefore the first place to show signs of ageing and neglect.

When NU SKIN launched the ageLOC LumiSpa Accent (“LumiSpa Accent”) last month,I was initially skeptical. Could this device really make me look less exhausted? Could anything other than plastic surgery make me look less like death warmed up? Which is why I did a happy dance when my editor chose me – over my other colleagues – to trial and review the LumiSpa Accent. So for 1.5 weeks, I religiously used my LumiSpa Accent twice a day – as instructed- every day to see if it worked, and here are my thoughts.

The ageLOC LumiSpa Accent comes with a tube of ageLOC LumiSpa IdealEyes Activating Eye Cream (“LumiSpa IdealEyes”) and retails for $190. Do note however that if you do not have the ageLOC LumiSpa cleansing device, you will need to purchase it, as the LumiSpa Accent (refer to the image above) is an attachment that is used in place of the treatment head.

Is it worth purchasing the ageLOC LumiSpa cleansing device? I would say Yes! I trialed it when it came out and I fell in love with it. It’s unlike any cleansing device that I have ever tested or owned. It cleanses deeply, but is very gentle and does not leave my skin red or inflamed post cleanse. You can read my review here.

The LumiSpa Accent works best when used together with the LumiSpa IdealEyes which is packed with active ingredients like Peptide Complex, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (a type of vitamin C), Plankton Extract, Squalene and Antioxidants.

I am in general quite a low-maintenance sort of girl. Which means, I can’t sustain a routine that requires me to stand in the toilet, running a gadget over my face, for more than two-minutes. This is another reason why I love the LumiSpa Accent. You only need 30-seconds around each eye area to see immediate hydration, visible firming, brightening, and de-puffing. So if you don’t have much time or patience like me, the LumiSpa Accent is just what you need!

The LumiSpa Accent works best when used in conjunction with LumiSpa IdealEyes. The eye cream is very lightweight and absorbs instantly. In fact, it is fast becoming my favourite eye cream. I love the texture and I also like the fact that when used together with the LumiSpa Accent, my eyes do look less puffy and the gentle vibrating movement also feels really relaxing.

My final verdict? The LumiSpa Accent works for me and is something that I would confidentally recommend – and have recommended – to my friends. It doesn’t require much time or effort (just 30-seconds per eye) and I can see a subtle yet immediate improvement in my eye area. The skin looks firmer and my upper eyelid looks less droopy and the puffiness has reduced since using it.

So if you are concerned about the state of your eye area, I would suggest investing in the LumiSpa Accent, it won’t burn a huge hole in your wallet, but it will help keep your eye area looking less puffy and panda-like. For more information about the LumiSpa Accent, go here.
