I have always raved on about Allure Beauty for their seriously amazing brow skills, but I never realised just how great they are when it came to facials as well – silly me indeed!
When they first suggested I come on down to try their newly launched Red Rice Bubble Enzyme Facial Treatment With BoJin (BoJin is a stubby stone or bone comb) and calendula mask, I was a bit hesitant as I had so many facial treatments to try and review, but I thank my lucky stars that I agreed, because it was seriously an amazing experience and I don’t say this lightly, as I have to be very selective with any facial treatment that I do, as my skin tends to break out with eczema at any given opportunity.
The treatment started with a gentle double-cleanse. The steps and products were customised for me, keeping my reactive skin in mind. This is where the skills of the facialist and the care the salon has for its customer come in to play.
After the cleansing, a very high-quality essential oil blend, created specifically for the face, was used with the BoJin to gently brush my entire face, in order to trigger lymphatic drainage. Bojin is a Meridian treatment that enhances blood circulation and eliminates clogged pores. Scrubbing with the Bojin increases skin radiance and suppleness and improves an uneven skin tone. When used by a skilled facialist like Felicia, it can also help shape and contour the jawline, leaving the face more V-shaped and slimmer.
After a hot towel and a facial massage and a further gentle cleansing to ensure that no irritants were left on my skin, a Bubble Enzyme Mask was applied. The Bubble Enzyme Mask gently cleanses the skin, stripping away old keratin while it strengthens the skin’s barrier and enhances its active oxygen content.
This was followed by gentle extraction (yay!) and an icy cold ball to soothe any irritation and redness. The next step was the ReGeniStemTM Rice Ampoule that works to restore and renew cellular reproduction to activate collagen renewal, refine pores and tighten lax skin. This was used with a handheld Magic Light device, that used microcurrents to lift the facial muscles. It also emits four LED lights, each with its own skin benefits. Because of my skin condition, Felicia selected the blue light, to kill any bacteria present and to prevent any breakouts or flare-ups.
The next step was a face and shoulder massage followed by a scalp brushing with a blend of essential oils and the BoJin. At the end of the brushing, my scalp felt so light and spongy. I know this sounds strange, but seriously, it felt so good!
The final step was the Calendula Flower Mask which is a godsend for those with sensitive skin, as it left my eczema-prone face glowing and super moisturised. My usually sallow and uneven skin tone was also tremendously improved!
Overall, I seriously would give this facial five out of five stars and recommend it to everyone. I can’t believe that I never tried Allure Beauty‘s facial treatments before, seriously what a dolt I have been! If you are visiting the Tiong Bahru outlet, you must ask for my facialist, Felicia. She is so skilled, it’s unreal. She is also a fount of knowledge and information, which she gladly shares. Her passion for her craft really comes through and I totally trust her and the Chief Trainer Yoyo (who stood beside me throughout the entire 1.5-hour treatment to ensure that my skin did not flare up at any point) with my face!
