Singaporeans are exceptionally hard working people and as the saying goes, success always comes with a price. We are a stressed-out bunch!

For many people, salvation comes in the form of good food and wine…

So imagine my excitement when I was kindly invited by AT Marketing Consultancy to the grand opening of Wine Bonanza with the promise of premium wine, good food and yummy cheese!

Wine and Dine

I enjoyed the sweet and sparkly Prosecco served throughout the night. It was subtly sweet, crisp and refreshing. The versatile wine went well with most dishes served that night but paired exceptionally well with seafood. It can also double up as a dessert wine. As the name of the restaurant suggests, it offers a wide range of reds, whites and spirits.

Appetizer Gambas ($23) was a crowd favourite during the grand opening.

The sautéed tiger prawns cooked with garlic and seasoned with garlic sauce, chilli and olive oil were succulent and done just right, retaining all the precious sweet juices.

The freshness of the Irish Gallagher Premium Oysters with Hendricks Gin Cucumber Relish ($21 for 6) was enhanced with refreshing cucumber, a touch of gin and tangy orange.

Though the truffle fries could have been crispier, I have to admit that the great flavour of the potato used in the dish and irresistible allure of truffle oil had me going back for seconds.

The restaurant also serves sliders, pasta and other mains like seared lobster, duck confit and beef stew.

If wine sampling is your agenda for visiting Wine Bonanza, I would recommend giving the cheese board here a try. Do not miss out on the blue cheese, which has a nice crumbly texture and a strong but well-balanced flavour.

The 3,000 square feet space is full of neutral tones, exuding an understated, elegant and relaxing vibe.

The restaurant seats up to 60 indoors. The alfresco area can seat 30 persons and holds 60 standing guests. There is also a cosy VIP room that can host 10 guests or 20 standing guests comfortably.

The service on the opening night was attentive and smiley. Impressive, considering that both kitchen and service staff had to keep up with the demands of a couple of hundred guests that night.
