Few celebrities command attention quite like Fan Bingbing. Known not only for her celebrated acting career but also for her porcelain-like complexion, the actress was in Singapore last weekend to promote her skincare brand, Fan Beauty Diary, now exclusively available at Watsons Singapore. Seeing her in person, it’s impossible not to notice how luminous and calm her skin looks, the kind of glow that feels effortless yet clearly well cared for.
I had the opportunity to meet Fan Bingbing during her visit and sit down with her to talk beauty, skincare habits, and the philosophy behind her brand. Warm, thoughtful, and refreshingly candid, she shared her personal routines and the products she truly relies on, not just for red carpet moments, but for everyday skin health in real-world climates like Singapore’s.
LC: Your skin is flawless. Can you share your must-have products from your range, and your favourite sheet mask?
FBB: If you want your skin to look clear, even, and healthy, there are three steps I believe you really can’t skip: deep cleansing, brightening, and full protection.
For those who tend to get oily, have blackheads, or experience occasional breakouts, I always recommend the Fan Beauty Diary Acids Double Cleansing Clay Mask. It cleans deeply without feeling harsh, and the gentle acids help unclog pores and smooth the skin. After using it, your skin really feels like it can breathe again.
Brightening is something I’m very serious about. My personal favourite sheet mask is the Brightening Hydration Mask. Even if you’re not aiming for “whitening,” an even tone and natural glow are signs of healthy skin. The peony extract, combined with gentle brightening ingredients, helps improve uneven tone and brings clarity back to the skin, making it look fresher and more radiant.
And of course, sunscreen is the final step I never skip, no matter where I am. I always recommend the All-Season Premium Clear & Light Hydrating Sunscreen. It’s lightweight, non-sticky, and gives the skin a natural glow, which also helps makeup sit better.
LC: You mentioned that different countries will carry a different range of products from your brand. What would you recommend for Singapore?
FBB: Skin needs really change depending on the climate, so I always say skincare should be designed for where you live. When we enter a new country or region, my team and I take time to understand the local environment and skin concerns, and then carefully select products that are truly comfortable and useful.
In Singapore and Malaysia, where it’s hot, humid, and UV levels are strong, soothing, hydration, and skin stability are especially important. My simple morning routine here starts with the Gentle Cleansing Foam to remove excess oil from the night.
Next, I use the Astaxanthin Coffee Double Anti-Wrinkle Icy Morning Mask. It quickly wakes up the skin, reduces puffiness, and adds brightness. I finish with the Mussel Restructuring Collagen Treatment Lotion to lock in moisture and strengthen the skin barrier. This also helps sunscreen and makeup apply more smoothly.
LC: What does your daily skincare routine look like?
FBB: My routine is quite similar to most people’s, but I do have two personal habits. The first is using facial oils. I know oils aren’t always popular in Southeast Asia, but if you have dry skin or spend a lot of time in air-conditioned spaces, they can make a big difference. Just one or two drops after serum and before cream can give deep nourishment, making the skin feel softer, calmer, and more luminous.
The second habit is using a sheet mask as the very first step after cleansing. After removing the mask, I don’t rinse my face with water. I gently wipe off the excess essence with a soft towel, then continue with serum and moisturiser. This helps the skin absorb nutrients better and stay plump without feeling heavy.
There’s no fixed formula in skincare. The most important thing is to listen to your skin and enjoy the process.
LC: Can you share your biggest beauty or skincare secrets?
FBB: Honestly, I’ve shared many of my beauty tips on my Xiaohongshu (RED) and other social platforms, from the sandwich skincare method to reverse hair washing, and many personal tips I’ve learned over the years.
But if I had to sum it up in two words, it would be consistency. Beauty never happens overnight. Good skin comes from treating it gently and patiently every day. Cleansing properly, wearing sunscreen, and giving your skin exactly what it needs.
Skincare is really a long conversation with yourself. When you listen carefully, your skin will always answer in its own way.
LC: What can we look forward to from Fan Beauty Diary next?
The new year will definitely bring many exciting things. Before Chinese New Year, we’ll be launching a Year of the Horse limited-edition gift set, inspired by art and our wishes for the year ahead.
We’re also preparing new repair-focused products designed for sensitive skin and post-treatment care, offering gentler yet more effective support for delicate skin conditions. Looking ahead, we hope to continue expanding and meeting beauty lovers in more countries and regions.
In Singapore, Fan Beauty Diary is available at Watsons stores and on their official online platforms, as well as Lazada and TikTok Shop. In Malaysia, they are available at Watsons, Lazada, and Shopee.
Fan Bingbing’s skincare philosophy feels more accessible than ever: thoughtful formulations, consistency over quick fixes, and a deep respect for how skin lives and changes in different environments. After meeting her, it’s clear that her glow isn’t just about products, it’s about patience, intention, and listening closely to what your skin needs.
