Why Sculptra Will Always Be My Go-To Anti-Ageing Treatment

If there’s one anti-ageing treatment I swear by, it’s Sculptra by Galderma. I genuinely couldn’t live without it—but there’s one catch. It has to be done by Dr Elias Tam or a doctor with his level of skill. Over the years, I’ve learned that the injector matters just as much, if not more, than the injection itself. So if you want the best possible results, finding the right person to perform the treatment is absolutely essential.

When I wax lyrical about my love of Sculptra, many of my friends and peers do not understand. They prefer quick fixes. They love the immediate results of dermal fillers or thread lifts but do not possess the patience for the aftercare required for Sculptra.

Sculptra is quite different from traditional dermal fillers. Instead of just adding volume instantly, Sculptra works gradually by stimulating the body’s natural collagen production. Made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a biocompatible substance that helps restore facial volume lost due to ageing, the results aren’t immediate, but month after month, it improves skin texture and firmness, creating a more youthful and natural-looking appearance. And is often used for areas like the cheeks, temples, and jawline to enhance facial contours subtly and long-term (for up to two years).

Dr Elias Tam from EHA Clinic injected Sculptra into key points of the face

With Sculptra, you to truthfully and confidently tell anyone who compliments your youthfulness that you haven’t changed your features or augmented your face, but simply boosted your body’s natural collagen production, which is precisely what it does. In fact, clinical studies have shown that Sculptra was found to be able to boost collagen production by 66% three months post-treatment.

While your doctor will need to examine your face and skin to determine how many treatments and how often you need top-ups, the usual Sculptra protocol is an initial two to three treatments a month apart, followed by a touch-up every year, or every other year, making it one of the most effective and economical treatments out there.

I decided to have my first-ever touch-up in December last year, one year and eight months since my initial treatment. After consulting with Dr Elias, he customised a treatment plan, and I am still loving the results.

A syringe of Sculptra costs $1800 at EHA Clinic with Dr Elias Tam and is worth every single penny. To find out more, call the clinic on 6235 3325 or visit their website here.
