The thought of someone (yes, even my grocery delivery guy) stepping into my home and thinking it was stinky gives me sleepless nights. While I would love to get a couple of those cute plug-in air fresheners, or even those cheap block fresheners and place them just inside my front door, I know that they can be toxic (thank you TikTok) and I don’t want my insecurities and anxieties to poison myself or my cat.
But here’s the thing, we all know that scent plays a crucial role in our daily lives, often influencing our mood, productivity, and overall well-being. This is precisely why the aroma of our living space can significantly impact how we feel (and how we are perceived by others), making it essential to choose the right scenting method.
Before TikTok opened my eyes to the dangers of perfumes and synthetic fragrances, I used to happily light as many cheap-ass, but delightfully scented candles as I could get my hands on, and my house smelled great, but all that artificial scent was probably killing me from the inside.

First things first, the scents are really lovely. My personal favourite was the Clementine and fern scent. I loved its subtle, classy and understated fragrance and to me, it smelled expensive. Since it was my favourite scent, I decided to place it right beside my front door, with the hope that anyone entering the house, or even standing outside the front door would get a good whiff of the gorgeous aroma.
Because it was a fairly open and large space, I used all seven reeds, and while it did not flood the whole area with its perfume, it did however subtly scent the space, so whenever I walked through that part of the house I could smell it.
I tested the other diffusers in my bedroom and bathroom, both were smaller, enclosed spaces, and the scent delivered as promised.
I think Euvella’s diffusers are worth their price point. When used correctly, in a smaller or enclosed space, the scent does last, and the fact that it does not contain any harmful synthetic fragrances makes it a definite winner in my books.

LC: What inspired the creation of Euvella Scents, and how does this inspiration reflect in your reed diffuser products?
GT: My journey as an entrepreneur began in the interior design field, where my passion for creating impactful living spaces first took root. Throughout my career, I found that while aesthetics are crucial, the presence of a defining element—a unique fragrance—was often overlooked.
This realization became evident during my visits to clients’ homes, where I noticed the absence of a consistent and memorable scent. Recognizing the transformative power of scent in turning a house into a true home, I was inspired to fill this gap in the market. Many existing diffusers fell short in terms of longevity and potency, prompting me to embark on the creation of Euvella Scents. My goal was to craft reed diffusers that not only shower spaces with enduring, noticeable aromas but also reflect my commitment to quality and innovation in scent design.
LC: Can you explain the key ingredients and materials used in your reed diffusers, and how they contribute to the overall quality and longevity of the scent?
GT: We have three main fragrances:
Concentration (Clementine & Fern): With its blend of lively clementine notes and grounding fern essence, this series is recommended for areas where mental focus and concentration are paramount. Additionally, the uplifting qualities of Red Currant can elevate moods and reduce stress, contributing to a positive and inviting environment.
Uplifting Series (Pompelmo): For areas in the home where you want to infuse a sense of joy, positivity, and energy, the Pompelmo fragrance from the Uplifting series is recommended. LC: Do your reed diffusers use synthetic fragrances? Considering recent concerns about the potential health risks of synthetic scents in air fresheners, how do you ensure the safety of your products?

There are other factors also that affect the quality and longevity. Using a higher concentration of essential oils, for one, affects the strength of the scent. The type and number of reed sticks used, depending on their material, length and width, also affects how fast and strongly a scent spreads across the area. Thinner, shorter reed sticks, for example, perform much better than other alternatives, especially when used in plenty.
Other factors, such as temperature, humidity and placement, also affect the fragrance distribution. Ideally, Euvella’s diffusers must be placed in areas with good airflow, and the reed sticks must be flipped every one to two weeks to get the most out of the scent!
LC: Do you have any upcoming releases or new fragrances planned for your reed diffuser line that you can share with us?
GT: Euvella has an upcoming series called Relaxation, focusing on providing a sense of calmness and relaxation to the hustlers in Singapore. This product will contain white tea and ginger as its prime scents and ingredients.
