KENZO is set to reveal its inaugural collaboration with Japanese brand ASICS, helmed by Artistic Director Nigo. Three gender-neutral styles from the KENZO x ASICS collection will seamlessly meld the vibrant heritage of KENZO with the technical prowess of ASICS.
Originally introduced in 2013, the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 20 stands out as a cushioned running sneaker that delivers both comfort and stability during extended distances. KENZO is reintroducing this breathable and resilient shoe, underscoring the brand’s credibility in the sneaker market.
Featuring a two-layer midsole and outsole incorporating EVA, TPU, GEL technology, and rubber, the design ensures optimal foot dampening, whether navigating a running track or strolling through city streets. In terms of aesthetics, two styles draw inspiration from KENZO’s tiger graphics, incorporating a functional cage from the GEL-KAYANO 20, adorned with faux fur across the entire upper surface.
One variant showcases a lively mix of blue, lime green, and orange, while another pays homage to the original GEL-Kayano shoe with a restrained silver, gold, and white colour scheme. The third style introduces a burst of fresh, vivid colours – blue, green, pink, yellow, and orange – all contrasted by a sporty white. Across all iterations, the ASICS label is positioned on the right tongue, while the KENZO logo graces the left one. The visual package is completed with co-branded special packaging.
The KENZO x ASICS sneaker made its debut through a raffle on KENZO.COM on January 22nd, 2024, and will subsequently be available in KENZO stores and select retailers from today, and will be priced at €290.
