Everything You Wanted To Know About Getting A Lash Lift

I will be the first to admit that lash lifts look amazing, but leave your real lashes looking thin and brittle, and they cost a bomb. These semi-permanent treatments is a good alternative for long lashes that last, without the upkeep and damage of extensions.

In short, a lash lift is like a perm for your eyelashes. It provides lift and curl that can last for weeks.

It’s A Perm For Your Lashes

The key to a successful lash lift lies in the use of a carefully formulated chemical solution. A lash lift can be thought of as a kind of perm for your eyelashes, delivering impressive outcomes by achieving a naturally curved and lifted appearance.

Each person has their unique lash lengths and growth patterns; some lashes grow downward, while others extend straight out. Through the lash lift procedure, a naturally captivating upward curl in the lashes is created, and this effect can endure for numerous weeks.

But be sure to arrive for your appointment with a fresh, makeup-free face. If you’re a regular mascara user, especially waterproof mascara, discontinue its use for a minimum of three days before your appointment, as it can leave behind a residue that hinders the lashes from properly adhering to the adhesive.

There Will Be Noticeable Results

A lash lift can elevate the appearance of your eyes, creating a more open and alert look. Additionally, you have the option to request a lash tint from your artist after the lifting procedure, which can result in lashes that appear darker and more voluminous.

Not all lash lifts are identical in their effects. Your artist has the ability to customize the “tightness” of the lash curl and introduce a tint to give your lashes a darker and fuller appearance. In the consultation phase, you and your artist can collaborate to determine the most suitable style for your eyes: a gentle and natural lash curl or a more intense lash curl for a bolder and more dramatic effect.

It’s A Straightforward Process

Every lash lift service initiates with a consultation. During this consultation, your artist will inquire about your desired outcomes and evaluate your natural lashes and eye shape. Based on your input, the artist will select the appropriately sized silicone curling rod to sculpt, lift, and curl your lashes.

You’ll recline comfortably, close your eyes, and unwind for approximately 45 minutes while your artist meticulously cleans the eye area. After ensuring that any residual makeup and oils are removed, a gentle adhesive is used to affix a silicone curling rod to the border of your eyelids, following the lash line. Subsequently, the natural lashes are gently curved over the top of the rod and secured in place with adhesive.

Throughout the session, your eyes will remain closed. Once the artist confirms that all lashes are neatly combed up and properly separated, a lifting lotion is applied to the lashes. This lifting lotion will mold the lashes to conform to the shape of the curling rod. Next, a setting lotion is administered to lock the lash shape in place. Finally, a nourishing lotion is added to reintroduce moisture to the lashes.

A lash lift will typically last about six-eight weeks, depending on how well you take care of your lashes.

Low Maintenance Upkeep

The initial 24 hours following your lash lift are of utmost importance. It’s essential to keep your lash lift dry during this period—no water, sweat, exposure to steam, or sauna visits within the first day.

Avoid excessive eye rubbing, as it can potentially alter the curl of your lashes. Instead, opt for using a clean spoolie to gently brush your lashes daily, ensuring they remain light, airy, well-separated, and free from tangles.

Feel free to apply eye makeup and mascara, but steer clear of waterproof formulas. Although mascara isn’t mandatory to enhance your lift, choosing water-based mascaras is the most suitable option. Waterproof eye makeup may compromise the effectiveness of your lift and leave behind residue. Use exclusively oil-free makeup removers and cleansers to maintain your lash lift.

Lastly, prioritize the health of your lashes. Nourish them two to three times a week to maintain lash hydration; castor oil is a beneficial option for fortifying your lash hairs.
