LC: How do your organic fruit juices differ from conventional ones in terms of nutritional value?

EJ: There are many concentrated juices in the market today that contain added sugars or preservatives, which are not present in 100% fruit juices.WOLF + WALD Organic Still and Sparkling Juice are made with fresh fruits that are grown in family-run orchards without synthetic pesticides and cold pressed.

This means that the juices made from them retain their nutrients, have no added sugar, preservatives or chemicals.It gets better with freshly squeezed or cold-pressed juices as they generally contain more nutrients than concentrated juices. The concentration process of fruit juice often involves heat, which can destroy some vitamins and enzymes.

LC: What steps do you take to minimise the sugar content in your organic fruit juices?

EJ: Stick to small servings. A typical serving size should be around 150–200 ml (around 6–7 ounces) to keep your sugar intake in check.

Limit the frequency of fruit juice consumption.It should not be an all-day, everyday beverage but rather a regular supplement to a balanced diet.

LC: Can you provide insights into portion control and moderation when consuming your organic fruit juices?

EJ: Excessive consumption of either can lead to health problems, including obesity and metabolic disorders. It’s generally much easier to consume excessive amounts of cane sugar compared to fructose found in whole fruits.

LC: How do you address the medical advice against consuming fruit juices due to their high sugar content?

EJ: We let the natural flavours of the fruit shine through, eliminating the need for added white cane sugars which can contribute to a host of health problems like obesity and diabetes. Fructose is a single sugar molecule, while cane sugar (sucrose) is a disaccharide composed of glucose and fructose.

    Juices are intended to complement a balanced diet, not replace it. They can be integrated seamlessly into meal plans as a side or a quick, nutritious snack. Consumers are well-aware of their dietary and lifestyle choices.
